Who we are

Lassi Shop was conceptualized in 1986. We are a “Quick Service Cafe” with a small format “170 sq. ft. shop” Fast Food Retail Business. Our first outlet started in 2014 in Bangalore and we are growing at a tremendous pace in multiple locations across India.


About your Application

You have taken the first step in being part of the Lassi Shop family. You have applied for our Café and Fast Food Retail Entrepreneurship (CFRE) Program, through which Lassi Shop intends to revolutionize successful entrepreneurship for budding aspirants in the Food and Retail industry. You will be equipped with knowledge and strategy required to become a part of our success story.

Our goal is to help individuals who are passionate and driven to be part of a team that aims to offer Indian consumers fresh, healthy and hygienic drinks such as Lassi, Milkshakes and Mocktails in India’s favorite flavors.

Now that you have expressed your interest, your application has been forwarded to our Meeting and Client Relations team. They will call you as soon as possible. They will guide you through all the requirements and process for setting up your own outlet. They will also schedule a face-to-face meeting for you with our team members. This meeting is very important for you as you will be meeting the people who will give you a clear understanding of the business concept and operational details. You can also get all your questions regarding the business answered in this meeting.


About the Ownership Model

The outlet to be independently manged by you. You will be responsible to acquire all the necessary regulatory requirements for your outlet such as Trade License, FSSAI, GST Registration, Labour License, etc. You will be choosing your own location for the setup of the outlet and you will be actively involved in the setting up process.

We will license our trademark and business concept to you. This means that we are entrusting our brand in your hands and at the same time you will benefit from our market reputation and popularity.  This license is renewable on a yearly basis.

We will setup the outlet for you (This includes interior setup, equipment installation, utensil etc.).We will also train your staff and provide opening support.  The outlet will be handed over to you in 45 to 60 days.


Outlet Requirements

You need an ideal space of around 170 sq. ft. We prefer it to be on ground level (and not higher floors, mezzanine or basement). Make sure the outlet location is in a commercial area with sufficient footfall for business. Should be visible and not hidden to public view.

Please note that the terms of leasing/renting the outlet space is entirely between you and the outlet landlord. Our inspection team will conduct inspection of the location after you have provided us with details such as address, location photos and a 360-degree video. Approval of the location by the inspection team is mandatory for initiation of next steps.


Financials

All payment are to be made via direct bank account transfer or cheque payment only.

  • For complete setup, (including renovation, equipment installation, training and opening support) we charge INR 10 Lakhs (Rs. 10,00,000) plus GST. We don’t take any deposit. Since this amount is for setting up your shop, it is non-refundable.
  • Royalty of 2% of net monthly sales or INR 3,000 (Rs. 3,000) per month (whichever is higher) from the date of opening of the outlet.
  • INR 36,000 plus GST as annual “Trademark Usage” renewal fee chargeable at the end of every year of outlet operation.

Staff Requirements

For a typical outlet, you would need a minimum of 3 staff to run the day to day operations. We usually recommend 4 staff for outlets that have high volume sales.

The staff recruitment and payroll is entirely your responsibility and we do not have any role in the selection or payroll process. However, their training is conducted by us and the staff need to be certified by us before they are allowed to manage the outlet operations. The staff must be 18 years old and above.

Our recommendation is that the staff must have at least 6 months of experience in the F&B industry or are trained in relevant field of work. They must possess good communication skills, good interpersonal skills, good organizational skills, ability to multi task and have attention to detail.


The Process

Here is the overview of the process of setting up your outlet,

You do

  1. An advance payment of INR. 2,00,000 (Rupess Two Lakh) as a Registration Amount for the desired outlet in your preferred location or area. This payment ensures that we keep you as the preferred client for the location or area that you have chosen for a period of at least 15 days.
  2. Search for a potential location for your outlet in your area. You need an ideal space of around 170 sq. ft with frontage at least 10 ft. wide.
  3. Please send us the google map (GPS coordinates), a few pictures of the outlet as well as nearby areas and a 360 degree video of the shop location.
  4. After our approval of the shop location by our inspection team, complete the remaining payment and sign the brand and trademark licensing terms.
  5. You send your staff for training. Typical training will be from two weeks to a month depending on the staff competency.

We do

  1. After advance payment, we will send our teams to do outlet inspection. They will assess the viability of the location in terms of business, infrastructure and utilities (electrical and water).
  2. After full payment,
    • Our authorized contractors will do the interior setup (renovations) for you.
    • Full equipment setup
    • Provide utensils
    • Conduct staff training and provide our proven Product Menu
    • Branding support
    • Connect you to multiple vendors for raw materials.
    • Coordinate with teams to open the outlet

As with any business, this depends on several factors. While choosing a great location for your outlet is important, the most important factor is you and the effort you invest into your business. Apart from your involvement in the business, it is important to choose the right personnel to run your operations who will maintain and enhance the service provided to your customers.
