Compare businesses side by side

Put up to three businesses on the same figures and see which one gives you the best return: asking price, profit, payback, ROI and IRR, all in AED.

How it works

Three steps to a clear decision

1

Enter each business

For each of up to three businesses, add a photo, the asking price, the seller’s adjusted annual profit, the manager salary you will pay, and the working capital you need.

2

Set shared assumptions

Use the same closing costs, growth rate, holding period and resale multiple for all three, so the comparison is fair.

3

Compare and export

The best figure in each row is highlighted. Then generate a PDF report with photos, figures and assumptions to share with your adviser.

The method

How each number is worked out

  • Total cash needed = asking price × (1 + closing costs) + working capital.
  • Yearly earnings = (profit before owner pay − manager salary), grown by the yearly growth rate.
  • Tax = 9% of earnings above AED 375,000 a year.
  • Resale value = resale multiple × final-year earnings, plus the working capital returned.
  • Payback = the number of years until cumulative net cash covers the total cash needed.
  • ROI over hold period = (all net cash + resale value − total cash) ÷ total cash.
  • IRR = the annual rate at which the cash flows, including resale, add up to zero.
